Assumption of Risk and Liability Waiver

By participating in Unknown Realms Yoga classes, whether in-person or online, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

  1. Physical Activity Risk: You understand that yoga practice involves physical exertion, which may be strenuous and carries an inherent risk of injury, whether physical or mental. You agree that you are voluntarily participating in these activities and assume all risk of injury, illness, or death.
  2. Health Responsibility: You affirm that you are solely responsible for your own health and physical condition and that you have consulted with a licensed medical professional before beginning any exercise program, including yoga. You understand that it is your continuing responsibility to inform the instructor of any medical conditions, injuries, or changes to your health status before each class.
  3. Instruction and Modification: You agree to listen carefully to the instructor's cues and instructions. You take full responsibility for monitoring your body's limits and practicing only to a degree that is comfortable for you. You agree to modify or omit any pose that causes pain or discomfort.

Cancellation Policy & refunds

This policy applies to all scheduled yoga classes, workshops, and private sessions offered by Unknown Realms Yoga.

1. Student Cancellation

We understand that unexpected events occur and life happens. To ensure fairness to all students and the sustainability of this business, we enforce the following policy:

Refund window for cancellations 24hrs notice or more before class start time. Full refund or class credit will be applied to your account. Less than 24 hours notice -  No refund or class credit. The full cost of the class will be forfeited.

Multi-Class Packs - 24 hours notice before class start time. The class will be credited back to your pack. Less than 24 hours notice - The class will be deducted from your pass pack as if you attended.

Workshops / Special Events 48 hours or more notice. Due to the preparation time and availability of spaces 48 hours or more notice will be required for a full refund or credit. This is to ensure your space can be offered to someone else with a reasonable time period, and this business can continue offering these services with clarity and commitment

Less than 48 hours notice - No refund. Transfers to another person may be allowed at the Instructor's discretion.

2. Late Arrival / No Show Policy

If you are unable to attend a class and do not cancel within the required window (a "no Show”), you will forfeit the class fee or class pass credit.

For your safety and to minimize disruption to the class, late arrivals more than 5 minutes after the scheduled start time may be refused entry, especially to Vinyasa Flow classes where warm-ups are crucial. If entry is refused due to lateness, it will be treated as a "No Show," and no refund will be issued.

3.Instructor/Venue Cancellation

In the unlikely event that Unknown Realms Yoga must cancel a class due to instructor illness, venue issues (e.g., power failure, double-booking), or extreme weather, you will be notified as soon as possible via Email/Text/Booking App Notification.

  • Drop-In / Single Booking: You will receive a full refund or a credit for a future class.
  • Class Passes: The class will be fully credited back to your pass.

Class Etiquette

ollowing these simple guidelines helps ensure a safe, peaceful, and respectful environment for every student and instructor.

Before Class: Preparation & Respect for Time

Arrive Early: Please aim to arrive 5-10 minutes before the scheduled start time. This gives you enough time to sign in, remove your shoes, quietly set up your mat and props, and settle your mind.

Lateness: If you arrive more than 5 minutes late, we kindly ask that you do not enter the room. This is necessary to avoid disrupting the initial centering and warm-up, which is crucial for preventing injuries, especially in a Vinyasa Flow class.

Silence Devices: All phones, smartwatches, and electronic devices must be completely silenced or powered off and ideally left outside the practice space or tucked away in your bag. This is your time to unplug.

Footwear: Kindly remove all footwear upon entering the venue/studio area to maintain cleanliness and respect for the practice space.

Hygiene & Scents: Please maintain good personal hygiene. Out of consideration for those with sensitivities and allergies, please avoid wearing strong perfumes, colognes, or heavily scented lotions.

During Class: Focus & Safety

Mind Your Space: Be mindful of your neighbours. If the room is full, roll out your mat carefully and be prepared to slightly adjust your position to allow everyone enough room to move without bumping into each other.

Never step on another student's mat. This space is considered sacred territory during practice.

Communicate Injuries: Always inform the Instructor before class of any current injuries, persistent pain, or health concerns (including pregnancy). This allows them to offer you suitable modifications.

Listen to Your Body: Yoga is non-competitive. Listen closely to the Instructor's guidance, but always honour your body's limits. It is never wrong to rest in Child’s Pose or modify a posture, especially in the more intense Vinyasa classes.

Keep Quiet: Once you are on your mat, please keep chatter to a minimum. The time before class is a chance to settle and focus inward. Save conversations for after the class.

Hands-On Assists: If the instructor offers hands-on adjustments, you are welcome to accept or politely decline. If you prefer not to be touched, simply let the instructor know before class begins.

End of Class: Savasana and Tidy Up

Stay for Savasana: Savasana (Final Relaxation) is a fundamental part of the practice—where the body and mind absorb the benefits of the yoga. Please make every effort to remain still and quiet until the Instructor guides you out of the pose.

Quiet Exit (If Necessary): If you absolutely must leave the class early, please inform the Instructor before the class starts and set up your mat near the door so you can slip out quietly before Savasana begins, minimising disruption to others.

Clean Up: If you used any studio-provided props (blocks, straps, blankets), please wipe them down (if necessary) and return them neatly to their designated storage location. Take all personal belongings with you, leaving the space as tidy as you found it.
